K-8 Center is strongly committed to developing a learning
community of caring individuals and lifelong learners. Self-efficacy
is cultivated in a nurturing environment, and decisions are
based on what is best for students.
Mission
The staff
and community of Key Biscayne K-8 Center believe that all
students can achieve at a high level of academic performance,
critical thinking, and practical application. In view of this
belief, we encourage participation in after-school community
education to complement and supplement the regular academic
program. We believe that our school’s purpose is to
educate every student and to enable each to reach maximum
potential within a positive learning environment. We bridge
the school with the community and other stakeholders through
active involvement of outside professionals in the classroom.
We further use field experiences and the Internet to move
beyond the classroom. We enthusiastically accept the challenge
to teach all students the essential curriculum for the 21st
century.
